WebQuest: Project Time!

Hello!

In this post, I am going to write about the WebQuest task that Nida, Aslı and I created together using the preparatory class coursebook that we used in the previous tasks. In short, WebQuest is a lesson platform with which teachers give their students online tasks/projects. What makes WebQuest different from traditional ways is its detailed & sufficient instructions and information, integrating technology.

In the task, we chose the project given below as a screenshot, taken from the coursebook, and we integrated technology into that project. To see how we made it a technology-enhanced WebQuest just click here.

Let’s talk about how we made it technology-enhanced. I started blogging when I took the Educational Technologies course. So, we utilized some activities we learnt in Educational Technologies, integrating them into Material Design course, as well. In the WebQuest, we firstly gave a “Creating Poster” activity about a movie the students will choose and we used an infographic to show how to create a poster on PosterMyWall on the WebQuest. Then, we wanted them to write a review about the movie on the Wiki Page on PBworks and we recorded a video showing how to use PBworks. Additionally, we gave them 2 sample posters and we showed how students should write their review and provided a sample review on the video.

Finally, except for the website we used, QuestGarden, which was a little bit confusing, nothing was challenging as we are already familiar to what we gave as tasks.
