DS: How to Play Gartic.io?

Hello!

In this post, my friends and I created a DS (Digital Storytelling) based on “How to play Gartic.io.” First, we determined our roles in the video and shared our ideas. Though it was our first time creating a “how-to” video, we enjoyed it a lot and explored some applications to edit and combine videos, add background music, and so on. After finishing it, we uploaded the video on YouTube. If you want to look at it, just scroll down and click on the play button.

There are many websites and applications for creating and editing a video. However, I used Camtasia 9 (premium version) to create the video as I am little bit experienced on it and I believe that Camtasia 9 is a very practical application to create videos with it even for a person who is not experienced.

Creating DST is a creative task for both students and teachers. However, it differs from level to level. For instance, a primary school may not create such kind of a video that we made. Considering that, a teacher needs to give specific information for students’ level and a website/application such as Pixton Edu. As this activity helps students learn the language cognitively, be creative, retain knowledge longer, and encourages students in many ways, it will be useful to give them such a productive task.
